Pastor Jean-Marie Sumo was born in Cameroon, Central Africa. He is the organizer of Christ Disciple Mission Church, a charitable ministry first established in the District of Columbia with the purpose of uplifting the standard of life of the hurting people. 

 

After serving two diplomatic missions in Africa, the British Embassy, and Consulate of the United States of America from 1985 to 1993, he left the secular world of business enterprises to respond to God’s call. Pastor Sumo was ordained a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1991 and consecrated as a Pastor in 1994 while he was still in Africa. He finally settled with his wife in Washington DC in July 1994. They developed and ran not only the church, but also a social work nonprofit entity called Nations Community Restoration, Inc. They relocated with the mission and vision to Atlanta, Georgia in 2009, where God placed on His servant's heart to go back to school to materialize his knowledge and experience with academic degrees. 

 

2016: He earned the Degree of Master of Theological Studies at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Cleveland, Tennessee, and affiliated his Ministry with the Church of God. 

 

2017: He was ordained Minister in the Church of God.

 

March 2020: Ordained Bishop in the Church of God.

 

August 11, 2020: Bishop Jean-Marie Sumo successfully defended his PhD Dissertation at Beulah Heights University. Topic: The Impacts of Ethical Leadership on Nonprofit Organizations, A Case Study of a Georgia Based Organization.

 

In October 2021, Bishop Sumo assisted the Dean's office for various duties, and was later offered the position of Adjunct Faculty, teaching Leadership and Business, as well as Religious Studies.

God had just built up a new track toward a divine destiny, while He never ceased to heal and to restore the hurting people, soul, spirit, mind and body.

 

Bishop Sumo is a gifted preacher/teacher who has preached and taught numerous sermons, seminars, and workshops on the subject of faith, healing, and kingdom building in Africa, Europe, Canada, and the United States. He is considered to be an expert in the areas of spiritual development. 

 

It is through his anointed messages that people have been delivered from sickness, disease, and spiritual bondage using the word of God as the solution to the problems people encounter here on Earth. He accepts invitations to hold seminars and revival services because the Lord has instructed him to do so. 

 

Bishop Sumo and his wife are business owners with a successful Accounting and Tax Resolution firm since 2011, and they continue to assist families as well spiritually as materially in the United States and in Africa.

 

God blessed them with now three young adults who love and serve God with zeal and power.
